Ellingstring is nicely situated for many local attractions and close to numerous tearooms and country pubs for eating out. Masham with its large market square and beautiful church of St Mary's. Masham is also known for the famous Black sheep & Theakstons breweries.
Marfield Wetlands Warren Gill shooting ground is close by. Fly fishing is only about 3 miles on Leighton reservoir.
The Druids Temple (a replica of Stonehenge), built in the 1820's, this remarkable shrine is on the hills above Ilton about 3 miles away.
We are within walking distance of Jervaulx Abbey. The monastic ruins of Fountains Abbey and the James Herriot Centre in Thirsk are only about a 30 minute drive away.
Leyburn is popular with the re-opened Wenslydale Railway, has delightful tearooms and public houses.
